Linking to other hotrodding sites is perfectly fine, we encourage people to visit them, and we know plenty of other admins, and link to their sites, and list them in our Knowledge Base.
Additionally, you can always grab an excerpt of the original text, and do a Google search for it. Be sure to enclose the excerpt in double quotes when searching, so that it will search for the exact phrase. Here's a link to a google search for some of the text that you quoted:
That's a very useful technique for finding the source of people's postings, or for verifying urban legends/rumors etc.
Bottom line: quote a few lines of text, then put a link to any site you'd like where people can find the remainder of the text. Excessive copy-pasting as a general policy raises issues of copyright, un-originality, potentially inflammatory posts, database bloat, etc. Bring it up in the Site Suggestions and Help forum for further details if you'd like.
By searching Google for a specific excerpt of the text, you can find other sites on which it's listed. If you have solid Google skills, you can even use a date-specific search to find the first site to list the text (good for tracking down the source of information).
