fuse
I had an automatic 12/6 volt charger hooked up to my battery and tried starting my 53 chevy pickup and heard a little pop crime battery area in cab. now I have no head lights and starter wont engage with foot pedal? did I pop a fuse? the only two fuses I can find are under hood and they are fine. where are the rest. I can't find them. please help

Do any of the other electrical circuits work-radio, interior light, etc?
Is the battery still good? A pop isn't a good sound. Take it to autozone or something and have it tested if possible. Do you have a fuse block under the dash? Check those fuses if you do. I am not sure about that particular vehicle, but there could be something called a fusable link in the wiring harness that is used as a safety to prevent a major short from causing a fire. If that goes it has to be replaced with another fusable link, not a regular piece of wire. hth some. Russ |
