g body abody rear end
hello, can any body tell me if a G body rearend will bolt into an A body frame? we need a rear end that is slightly narrower to accomodate different wheels. thanks

Pretty positive that they wont.....and the G body rears are quite a bit weaker generally

Usually people go the other way to get the stronger A-body axle under a G-body. The ears for the suspension arms are at a different angle. You can force the arms to fit, but the suspension will bind as you drive. The G-body axle is about 4" narrower. More to the point (as noted above), with only a handful of exceptions the G-body axles are the 7.5" units that are MUCH weaker than even the lowliest A-body axle. By the time you get the custom offset wheels to make it work, you might as well get a 10-bolt A-body axle.
