G Body Battery Location
Hello all
! I have a buick regal with a 350 setting it up for drag racing question I have is does anyone know how to do a trunk in battery setup? And where is the cheapest battery cables I can find? Please let me know!

Place that battery over the right rear and in a racing association required box.
There are no cheap battery cables these days. If you can find some welding cable 2 gauge or heavier, that could be your best bet. It's very flexible and usually fairly reasonably priced vs the now very expensive automotive cables. Automotive cable can be a bear to work with. Mine is Taylor and from Summit, though I did have to buy more black ground wire as their 'kit' didn't supply enough for my trunk mounted battery arrangement. You need to run the new cable to the same starter terminal as the original battery cable. Install a master shut off as well - it's usually required by most racing rules. You also need to run a ground cable, same gauge size directly to the engine then from there, you will need to ground the chassis, body and if was me, the gauge panel. These extra grounds, I use the braided cables. |
