G body twist

I have a 1981 monte, since replacing 4.3 with v-8 and 3.73 pos. the car has small cracks behind door glass to roof. Can anyone direct me to a site on stiffing up frame or ways to fix this problem? I do not want to paint the car until I fix this twisting.

Thanks

Sub frame connectors or cage will do it.

Sub frame connectors? car has a full frame, roll cage would work but the car is a summer driver not a racer, roll cage would not look to good.

Thanks

If the body has cracks on a "full frame" vehicle, I would check the body mounts, then check the frame for damage. I am not a big Cehbby fan, but those frames are pretty stout. It would take some really serious power and traction to twist that frame (unless it is damaged) enough to crack the body.

I would agree that the G-Body frames are a good frame, but they are notorious for rotting out right behind the rear axle, sometimes all the way back to the bumper. Maybe there is a frame problem with your car.

I have seen these cars crack from the rear of the side windows up to the roof line before.

I've personally had near 15 of these cars, all of which have been stripped and made into circle track cars
