Well I have quoted many sites on my post which stay this works well after the throttle plate. Feel free to read them and you could go to the www.gadgetmangroove.com web site and see for yourself. I'm just posting the facts on TBI and doing my own independent test to see if it work.

Thanks for your time. Sincerely, Rip Von Ripoff ChevyTruckGuy. I mean no disrespect by my doubting this "groove" will actually work. I think it's great that you're interested enough to test it out for yourself. Last edited by Northstar T; 04-23-2012 at 06:24 PM. |

Over the years, manufacturers have added grooves, vanes, and bumps in intake manifolds and cylinder heads to fight fuel separation issues associated with fuel being atomized so far from the cylinder itself.
It would be interesting to see what was happening to the air and fuel, while the motor was running, with the throttle blades nearly closed. A high speed camera mounted in the intake maybe? If there was any separation at all........A grove such as the one being talked about........ "Could" in fact make a difference....... On the flip side..........You could screw up the manufacturers efforts, and actually cause a fuel separation issue.......Dan |

For the small amount of expected improvement from this groove, careful testing has to be done or the results are basically meaningless.
One of the many problems w/testing schemes like this is to do it scientifically. One concept of the scientific method is only ONE change can be made at a time. And you need a control- in this case it would be an identical unit w/o mods to test back-to-back w/no other changes. To test on different days, possibly months apart, will not give a conclusive result unless the results are overwhelming. In other words, the changes could be so small that just different weather or ambient conditions will mask them unless the change is very large. I would compare this to Singh grooves. There's just enough buzz to make you wonder, but when it comes right down to hard, repeatable results showing a measurable improvement, they're lacking for the most part. I believe the best thing that can be said for this is it will probably not hurt anything. |
