Cool Garage fire

I leave my garage lighted 24/7. Went out this morning to fire up the wood stove and found the light in the center between two bays on the floor. Bulbs busted, sockets melted and breakers tripped. Replaced the light sockets and put in and fired up the 8" bulbs. Some kind of luck I guess. Anyone have any close calls like this?

Cool

Good idea helrazr3 I'll check the amps and see what its drawing. The light blew the bulb receptical right off. Melted the plastic and burned the metal housing and singed the beam it hangs from. The light is an 8' floresent. Had everything apart when I rebuilt the light, didn't see any sign of overheating at the ballast, no paint pealing or blistering.

it sounds like the end clips where the bulbs fasten broke or cracked, the bulb could have dropped down and shorted. thank god for good circuit breakers.
