Is it ok for air?
Shark Bite does not rate them for compressed air. I believe the concern is if the fitting does release its grip you have the rapid expansion of the compressed gas, the same as disconnecting a quick coupler on an air hose. They do not want to accept any liability is my though.
You decide, I am not saying it is safe or not.
Myself I would just take the additional minute per fitting and sweat it and be done.
Be a hell of a lot cheaper and if you have 60 fittings you will spend only another hour or so with installation time.
If you want NOW fast, do as suggested and use a hose.
