Here is my attempt at doing faux burl on the garnish molding of the '39. By the way, if anyone has a windshield post garnish molding they would like to sell let me know
Took about 5 days mostly because of long drying times and paints that fight each other. Over the next month I'll take the rest of the molding off and do it all at once, then on to the dash.
Finished product with clear sanded and buffed. Counting research, testing, learning, setbacks and sidetracks it only took about 6 weeks. Six pieces to go...should be able to shorten up the time with mass production. Oh, and the dash too.
Starting to get pieces back in the car. Here's the driver side. Still have to do the pass. door, windshield, back window and dash. Had to put some in to motivate me.
And im hoping yours fit better than mine do so you do not have to mess up that fine job by adding screws. I had to add a few screws to keep mine from popping out.
