Gas contamination
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Whats up everyone, Has anybody heard of welding bottle contamination. Heres the story, I just got the tig welder I ordered today and I went to get an argon fill with a bottle that was originally argon co2 and the welding supply said that the gas would be contaminated if he filled it. Has anyone heard of this and would it really affect the weld it is only a DC machine and I am only going to be welding steel and occasionally some stainless. I am aware of the fact that you do have to use straight argon for tig. Any suggestions? Thanks. Anthony |
