I would like to put the filler neck and cap in my trunk. I know what your thinking, is this guy nuts. I'v seen it in a lot of car books but thay never get into details. I know you need a sealed cap of some kind, but what do I do with the vent. Any one who has done this please let me know. Thank you.

fuel filler cap

Hi,after you remove the fill tube from the gas tank,i would braze a piece of copper tubing (small tubing 1/8?) to the fill tube, close to the trunk floor, and either run the tube thru a small hole leaving it down 6 to 8 inches, and aim the tube toward the rear of the car. or add a piece of gas hose and run it thru a hole in the trunk floor. im boatbob2

Use a sealed cap w/ no pressure relief valve built in & splice in a small line of tubing from the main hose that runs outside of the vehicle. In the racing industry we use a $16 1 way check valve found at Summit or a similar company that you install within the hose.
