Gas pedal pulling muscle in foot???

Anyone ever heard of a gas pedal causing pain in foot. For the past couple of months my right foot has been hurting (the muscle going across the top). My kids and I take a Tang So Do class and I thought it was from that, but it won't go away. I really notice it when I am driving, it seems like the pain increases when I give my car gas. I have a 78 El Camino with a sb350, there is only one spring on the carb bracket for the accelerator cable. Any thoughts?

giving it the gas might not be the injury, but it certainly could be aggravating it. thats a movement called plantar flexion. does it hurt sitting there making the same motion?

Pu Tang So So?

Try stretching your accelerator return spring a little so it doesn't require so much foot pressure on the pedal. Or you could shim the pedal at a different angle.

Or you could go to the doc and get it x-rayed just to make sure that you don't have a small broken bone or fracture in the foot. A gas pedal won't cause a cramp but could aggravate the real problem.

Yo Maxx is your right foot bigger than your left? Ha did you see the Nissan commercial on TV? Seriously the problem with my truck is the left foot and the Centerforce pressure plate. Almost need extra foot to push it in. How long you been in Monkeytown?

My brother hurt his foot during a fall on a pedal bike a few years ago. The doc. mis-read the x-rays when he went into the ER. He walked around on a fractured foot for over a year. He was always complaining but did not think it was anything serious, then he came down on it wrong during a basketball game and re-broke it. He had to use a big blue foam and canvas shoe for six weeks or so. Definitely nothing to ignore.

Yes it does hurt when I move it. I didn't think it was anything serious until now, but I am definately going to let the doctor check it out.

No....Tang so do (Korean martial arts form)!!! And I had thought about some way of adjusting my gas pedal, just don't know how.

Been in monkeytown since '97.

Thanks everyone

And I heard that "foot" (probably not spelled that way) is German for *AHEM*....puntane.......I see the connection now.

Now let's quit pu$$y footin' around and get down to the real problem......ever considered cruise control?

I think I'll just go to the doctor and get a "professional" opinion!

after twenty years of martial arts, here is the word: you would get less pain from getting beat up monthly as you would from karate 3x weekly. if you like going to karate you can count on little pains like you are experiencing on every part of your body on virtually a daily basis. that's part of the learning and toughening up process. "pain is knowlege"

I get a pain in my right foot when I drive my Geo Metro. I think it is from mashing the pedal to the floor all the time to keep from getting run over by everything else on the road.
