Hello guys! Got a question and really need help. I bought a used gas tank for my 85 chevy and the tank has a internal pump that I would like to keep. My question is, what do I need to do to make this work?

The tank mounted pump can be used but a fuel return line is required in addition to all the other alterations.
If possible stick with the mechanical pump. They are more dependable IMO than a tank pump.
You will need to remove the tank pump and put an intake screen on the fuel tank pickup tube. Or use the old pickup tube and fuel gauge sender.

i agree with vicrod, just remove the pump and install a pickup
an 85 efi pump probably has 45 psi and 30 gpm flow
i'd think that using a regulator for a carb setup adjusted to 7 psi would create a lot of heat in the fuel tank

i run an early 80s in tank pump for a ramjet 350, it requires the 45 psi w/ 30 gpm flow
never figured out why it needs that flow rate when my truk gets 20 mpg
even at 80 mph i'm only using 4 gph or .067 gpm

i'm sure the flow is rated at 0 psi and at 45 psi it flows a lot less :D
