Gasoline Blackout Day Is Wednesday, May 19, 2004 - From The Desk Of Richard Piet

IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE
IN THE UNITED STATES, CANADA AND MEXICO
DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF GASOLINE FOR ONE DAY
AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME,
THE OIL COMPANIES WILL CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES.

AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OF
OVER 8.7 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL
COMPANIES.

THEREFORE
MAY 19TH HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED
"STICK IT TO THEM" DAY AND
THE PEOPLE OF NORTH AMERICA
SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF GASOLINE THAT DAY.

THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL
TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO
GET THE WORD OUT.

WAITING ON THESE ADMIINSTRATIONS IN THE U.S. , CANADA AND MEXICO
TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN PRICES
THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO?

REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF GASOLINE GOING UP BUT AT
THE SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING
COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON
EVERYTHING THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING
MATERIALS, MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO!

BOTH GOVERNMENTS CAN PROVIDE TAX CONCESSIONS
TO HELP US
GET THIS DONE AND ONE HUGE RESULT WILL BE A
MAJOR POSITIVE MOVE IN THE ECONOMY OF OUR
COUNTRIES AS WELL.

WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE DAY,
WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN UNTIL WE
GET THE PRICE BACK DOWN TO 1.30 U.S. PER GALLON
WHICH IS THE PRICE AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS YEAR !

SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE WORD. FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO EVERYONE
YOU KNOW.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS
AND MAKE MAY 19TH A DAY THAT TH E CITIZENS OF
THE UNITED STATES, CANADA AND MEXICO SAY
"ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"

This made it's rounds last summer and is a farce.

re: Gasoline Blackout Day Is Wednesday, May 19, 2004 - From The Desk Of Richard Piet

I got a news paper from May 21, 2004 this morning. It said that no one bought gasoline on May 19th and the oil industry lost $8.7 Billion, but that on May 20th $17. 4 Billion worth of gasoline was sold.

I won't need gas on Wednesday, so count me in!

itll never work. Look at it this way... 1/2 the people who might normally buy gas on Wednesday, buy the gas on Tuesday instead. The other 1/2 buy gas on Thursday. They still sold the same amount of gas, so its not going to put them in a pickle at all.

re: Gasoline Blackout Day Is Wednesday, May 19, 2004 - From The Desk Of Richard Piet

Unfortunately.... It'll never work. They know that we need a certain amount of gas. If they sell it on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, makes no difference. They know that they will sell that amount.

Face it, the gas prices are not going down, atleast not until after the election in Nov. The oil companies have a campaign to pay for!

I agree , I don`t think it`ll make a difference. We still need gas. BUT, if it did work, How many North American jobs or families would hurt from a hold out? Probably more than what we could imagine. I`m with you though, my wife`s 360 cubic inch Dodge Ram is sucking up $27 dollars everytime she goes to work!!!!! It` s 1 1/2 hours away but I feel it more than most do.

How bout the Brit`s? They must be well over $5 a gallon.

re: Gasoline Blackout Day Is Wednesday, May 19, 2004 - From The Desk Of Richard Piet

The only solution to this problem, is to pick just one of the oil companies, and not buy gas from them......EVER.

That drives them out of business and shows the rest that we mean business............

In Canada, I suggest that be "OUR" gas company....."Petro Canada"................since those government bast*rds are behind it all.........................

Blame it on us. The us makes enough gas to supply the us.
But we sell on the open market then have to buy back from another country to meet our demands. If our oil co.s werent so greedy.

Gotta pay high prices for fuel, cable, phone, everything. Nothing is cheap or free anymore. Excpet the air you breathe, and even that costs you to get filters so the air you breathe is clean. Sigh, wish i lived in the 1950's when things were simpler.
