Just wondering what other use for the gauge steel on there floors
i have a 48 oldsmobile and will be replacing some floors and rockers, and want it to be solid, i usually use steel a little heavier then normal body metal but not sure of the gauge size
thanks for the help
20 gage is what the body panels are usually made from so use 18 gage or if you want heavier use 16 but that is getting to the cut and weld thickness unless you have a big brake. Check this for sheetmetal thickness.
I use 16 most of the time, I get the scraps from the local sheet metal fab shop.

thanks for all the advice and suggestions, i think i will go with the 18 gauge for the floors and the 19 or 20 for anything else, but the outside body is in pretty good shape.
will be getting toed home monday morning and work started on monday night, My daughter is really oooking forward to it.
