I have a 84 Cutlass with 403 engine th400 and 3:42 rear gear. The engine runs about 4700 rpm in the 8th. I have 29 inch tires. I am thinking about going to 3:90 gears. Does anyone know what rpm this will bring the engine to in the 8th?
I haven't turned the engine over 6000 yet. Still trying to find the sweet spot for it. The tires are 29 by 10.5 slicks. Horese power about 400 and don't know about torque. It seems to come on the strongest around 4500. [ November 19, 2002: Message edited by: whunter5102 ]</p> |
