Gear selection
I have a sbc 406 with a th400 transmission with a 3200 stall, whats a good gear to run in the rear end to get the most torque i can out of motor? I think It's a 8.8 with a 308 in it now.

The 3.73 is very popular. Should work well with the 3200 converter. Most of the Mustang guys use Motive Gear in the 8.8 rear end.

I was thinking of either 3.73 or 4.10. I have 3.73 in my 69 Nova SS with a 700r4. I was just think with this 406 I could get more torque with a 410. Just was looking for a little more grunt off the start.
