Gear Vendor racing

I have a gear vendor mated to a TH350 (beefed up) and 2800 stall in my Chevelle. I used the gear vendor for the overdrive ability with my rear gear (4.11s)

Someone told me that I should use the GV while racing. In essence, with my gear vendor I have a 6 speed car without a clutch. My GV switch is a tap switch (like a high beam switch on the floor). I would need to set the GV on manual mode and tap shift.

The problem is I am not familiar with the process. Do I set the tach at 5300 rpm and shift tap the gear vendor each time the RPM lights come on.

Can any of you provide me with your experiences using the Gear Vendor.

I currently run consistent mid 12's at the track and trying to get to the 11.5.

I don't have the funds to invest in a steeper gears or high stall 3500

I have a gearvendor in my TA (check out my photo album)! yes use it while racing! should give you a little better ET! I don`t know why you do not have the auto lock switch though? I think you should call the gearvendor Co.
