A 2004R O/D Trans would be a good swap, same length as the TH350, better gear ratios. Bolts right in using a TH400 Crossmember. Requires a TV Cable & Brackets and a simple Lockup Kit for the TCC/TorqueConverterClutch. take in to acct that your speedometers 'driven' gear could be wrong for the tire size and axle ratio (whatever it is). You could be off by 5-10mph or more.
Put a performer RPM on it and some 3.73s (or more if you use a 200-4r) in it. |

W/31" tall rears it sounds more like 4"10's. I turn 2800 at 60 with the same combo trans and rear gears. If you have the room under the hood, try a 4 hole 1" spacer under the carb for more bottom end torque (cheaper than a whole new manifold).
