gen 5 454

Is there anything from the mark iv that won't work on the gen 5? I seem to get conflicting info. My buddy lost a rod in his mark iv block and has a gen 5. Should the solid roller cam and heads work with this block as well as the pistons and rods? They way I understand it you can use the old heads with the proper head gasket.

The fuel pump from the Gen IV wont work...there is no place for it on a gen v. Also the crankshaft is a one piece rear main on the 91 and up Gen V.

No mech fuel pump req'd and I have an adapter to use a two piece seal. The biggest thing here is heads and valvetrain.

I think you should be good to go. Use the fel pro head gasket #1307 it covers all the gen iv and gen v motors and has the three coolant holes already in the bottom of the head gasket.
