Gen IV 454 short deck?

i have a block with numbers 10068286 454. Says its a 4-bolt Short deck. I've heard od tall decks but whats a short deck. One guy told me it's a 1990-91 ls6 crate engine from GM performance parts. Any answers?

Standard 9.8" deck height block like most of them. Have fun.. Great start for a build! Tall decks came in dump trucks or aftermarket so guys could put a longer stroke crankshaft in. You have exactly what you need for a great engine!

Also,there were no MK IV 454 tall deck truck blocks produced,only the 366 & 427 versions.

A LS-6 crate motor should have the letters XAA somewheres in the engine numbers.
