Gen V 454, what flexplate?

I have a Gen V crate 454 (peanut port heads, out of 97truck), going in my 65 impala. Before this, I had the 327 mounted to a 700R4. Everything is painted and pretty, I went to put it all together, and the flex plate does not match the bolt pattern of the torque converter. I believe the tranny is out of a cop car, but not sure. Any ideas on a flex plate to use?

I had the same problem. You need small bolt pattern.. I got mine from Advance. ATP 04320 is the dual bolt pattern flexplate. Good luck.

thanks for your help. It's price right! There are no specifications, though. I looked on summit, nothing. So yours could be perfect. How did you find out that's the one?

Like I said I had the same problem. The truck flexplates came with the large bolt circle for the torque convertor. The 700r4 uses a small bolt pattern. Unless you buy a torque convertor with both bolt patterns(check summit/jegs). That is the part number I used in my combination.

I ended up swapping out the 700r4 for a TH350, but same flexplate. The 700r4 lasted about 5 minutes before I ripped the 2nd band lug off.

It is a 153 tooth flexplate. I matched this flexplate with a 70 nova starter(my car) in order to utilize the bypass/relay circuit of the starter. Advance lists it as a high performance upgrade, but it is not SFI approved. Good Luck.
