Gene Winfield Shop

I stopped by Gene's shop last Friday on the way home from San Diego area. He's having a metal working class May 31 and June 1. $400 for the 2 days, I've been twice, it's a great learning experience from one of the best metal masters in the country. This Wednesday, the 14th, he'll be on Fremont Street in Las Vegas for some kind of fund raiser with the car in the photo I will try to attach. William Shatner will be there also, I guess they are going to cruise Fremont street in Genes' car. The other car is a tribute car, a 57 Ford, I believe. On October 11 is Genes annual car show. He has a bunch of old Mercs, my guess would be about 15 that are being built. He's done a lot of work to the place, a lot of asphalt has been laid down, concrete, it's looking pretty darn sharp since I was there the last time. If you're interested in his classes, shoot me a p.m.

I am really thinking about this Dan, I may just do that. And I am not kidding you, if getting to sit in the Reactor is part of the class I REALLY am interested! That car means a lot to me, seriously, it means a lot to me and what I have done in this trade. I have seen it once in person and would just die to be able to sit in it! HOLY CRAP!

Gene is one of the most humble, nicest kind of guy you will ever meet. He has a great sense of humor and loves the ladies! Brian, I would bet a buck if that car is in the lot, you could sit in it.

^^ Same here; I met him at the Syracuse Nats. One of the local kids was building a period car and had used a N.O.S winfield cam in it. Gene not only listened to him talk about it, he wanted to go see the car, he signed it and gave him some vintage "water slide" decals for his windows. He busts his hump too..slingin parts and shaking hands, teachin classes...I wish I had that kinda energy.

Matt! if you come this year, say something, Im working all three days at our booth Im sure.
Brian...you better darn well take that class Mr.... We just lost one of our old masters recently; I implore everyone...please make time to learn from these guys while we still can
