General A/C clutch question
If the A/C compressor only makes noise when the clutch is engaged, could the issue still be in the pulley/clutch bearing?
The car is a 2007 Ford 500. The noise increases equally with engine rpm, but only with the clutch engaged.
Sounds like the compressor is noisy. The clutch wont act like you are describing.
LATECK is right . In all likelihood you've got a bad compressor. That is assuming that all the nuts and bolts holding the compressor and bracketry are tight.
A bad bearing would make a light to heavy roaring sound depending the condition of the bearing with the compressor disengaged.
