General help
Alright heres the scoop. I have a stock 350 in my 74 half ton 4x4 chevy that i am going to rebuild. so far i hace3 decided that i amgoing to bore it .30 over and put in some Kieth Black 12cc D-dish 3.480, 5.700 and 8.5 to 10.3 compression ratio pistons. A new stock size cast crank. World S/R torquer 64cc heads with 2.02intake and 1.60 exhaust valves. Some Stage 1 connecting rods from summit part #SME-3-48-05-100. I cant decide if i should put one of three cams in. Here they are: Comp Xtreme 4x4 Cam , Crane Cams Truck Power Cam with a power range of idle- 4,500rpm, or Lunati truck avenger cam duration @.050" 204 intake/216 exhaust and a lift of 427intake/454exhaust. Im also stuck between Holleys truck avenger and Edlebrocks new off road avs thunder series carb. I am trying to build this so i have plenty of power to pull a heavy load but still be able to get up and move pretty deceantly. 120mph maybe. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Any suggested changes on any of the parts i have selected will be helpful too. Thanks.

If your gonna rebuild and buy a new crank you might as well buy a new SCAT 383 crank(great for the money) for what you wanna do. It will create way more torque throughout the entire RPM power band over the 350 and couple that with a 4x4 cam and you should make all the torque you want. Just remember when you do order pistons and you if you do decide to go with the 383 you new to order pistons for a 383
, buddy of mine started and engine build up and bought the pistons before the crank and at the last minute bought a 383 crank and had to rebuy pistons.

If i put a 383 crank in it wont i have to bore out the block? Has anybody tried the parts that i listed? Do they perform well in a 4x4. Im trying not dumb a whole bunch of money into this since it is going to be a daily driver so im kind of looking for budget performance. And im not concerned about going 120, that was a joke.

You said you wanted to bore the block .030 over anyways so if you decide to go with the 383 crank just order pistons for a 383 bored .030 over. And I dont know the specs on those cams to give any info on what would be best for you, but I say just just get the one with the most duration and lift outta those cams
Those are all great cam companys and im sure they did there home work when designing those cams.
