Generater to alternator conversion, need some ideas.
I recently read where this guy converted the generator in his Ford flathead to a alternator. I thought I saved the article to my favorites, but apparently not. If any one of you has read it and has the web address, could you pass it along. I tried to Google it but nothing pop-up.
I remember he used an aluminum tube, did some machining, stock end plates and the draw band. He said he used a Mitsubishi alternator but he was not sure. I know you can buy these conersions but I would rether say "I made that" eventho it cost me the same. Today I spent the norning in a U-PULL-IT bone yard looking for something that mite work but nothing jumped out at me. Have any of you toyed with this idea, tried something? Do you have any thoughts on this issue? What I need is an idea or two-a size 12 boot in the right direction. Any and all input would sure help. 4Chuck |
