Question Generator to Alternator conversion help

I have a 1964 Ford Fairlane that I want to modernize the electrical system on. I want to replace the generator with an alternator. Is there somewhere I can get some guidence on what all I need to change to do this? Is it as simple as replacing the generator with an alternator and a regulator or is there more to it than that?

Any information would be appreciated.

THANKS!

-Bruce

This might not answer all your questions, but here's what I did to get my alternator and engine area all wired up for maximum performance:
