Gettin the HELL out of PA.

Hey Hotrodders!

I have decided to get the HELL OUT of Pennsylvania!! The laws are nuts and the regs. are even worse. I brought a trailer with me from Wyoming and it's goin back with me. It would take one hundred and fifty bucks and 1 1/2 months to register it here. It takes a visit to the county seat and $7.50 to register this trailer in Wyoming! My truck doesn't need any inspection back home and I can drive the hell out of it if I choose. Not keep under 5,000 miles per year. Hell - I did all that work to drive it, not let it sittin in the drive or shop. So, at the end of July, me and my rig is headin back to the Rockies where we belong. Take At Y'all When We Get Home!!

The higher the population density gets the more rules you'll see about cars/emissions/inspections. Wyoming probably doesn't have any of that not because they don't want the money or they're just really nice. They just don't have the population to justify it!

I hear its nice out west, enjoy-

I'm really not sure if I understood that post, but I especially don't understand what a bunch of cooky English puritans fleeing across the ocean in the name of religious freedom has to do with emissions taxes and vehicle inspections?

Hi Snydrobert,
Why did you come to Pa.? Job, do you or
your wife have relatives here? something motavated
your move here. Don't get me wrong I'm not happy
with a lot that goes on, the trailer thing being one of them
as my trailer isn't regestered yet either, but the anual
inspection is a good thing as long as you find a shop
that isn't trying to ripoff everyone, I've found them by
talking to neighbors, friends, & coworkers. I lived in Florida
for awhile they don't have safety inspections either,
car's riding around with bald tires, fenders flapping due to
body rot, doors held closed with rope, lights some work some don't
Then the scarey part, your stopping for whatever, when you hear that
horrable sound of metal to metal when he puts his breaks on, I saw these
examples everyday there. As for the 5,000 mile thing, what kind of tag do
you have? Antique Or Classic tags are a big mistake in this state, use
regular tags & negotiate a replacement value with an insurance co. Oh
yea, trailer regastration in Fl. Have it weighed, go to dmv, get your tag,
I think I payed $10. I don't know what Pa's problum is.
So before you leave are you going to go to Maple Grove on the 20th=22nd
for Super Chevy weekend? either way, I sincerely hope you have a safe &
uneventful trip back to Wyoming.
Take care & the best of luck to you & yours,
Rich

And I figured that you might have just gotten sick of driving the Pennsylvania way. Been there once, probably never will return. That's the only state I've been to where the goal of driving on the highways is to stay in the bottoms of the potholes and avoid the "roads". I've been muddin' in a freshly plowed cornfield that was seemingly glass smooth compared to those roads.

In a while, Chet.
