getting rid of my posi?

Hey.
im gettin a 8.8 inch rear end and for my v8 trike i actually dont need a posi!
If i dont need a posi is it a big deal to undo?
Id like to narrow it about 8-10 inches while im at it but getting it to non posi mode for now will work. Tnx....hg

Hemmie,

Why wouldn't you want a posi? Thinking out loud, wouldn't it unsettle the Trike if you were to hit, say, some sand coming out of a turn under power? I would think a Posi might be on the "needed" list-

he might not want it, because it (the bike) will be so lite, the posi will never go into slip. and would be a royal hand full on the street on a bike, dry road it push the bike straight, on wet the rear might as well be on slicks

8.8" LSD. I'm thinking it's probably an Explorer rear and the LSD is worn out to the point of not working at 100k miles.. You can get an open center with the right amount of splines, and just set it up..

If it is an expo rear, to narrow it, you just get another short side axle and cut the tube to the right length. Many rent large pipe cutters to get square cuts altho a jig is best.
