I have sport truck tires on the rear of my Willys with raised white letters. Unfortunately the white is more than skin deep, it is even under the black part of the sidewall. I had the tires installed with the white letters on the inside then painted them with the black-out tire paint that you can get at the auto parts store. Has held up fine for several years and is totally undetectable.
