Question Getting "server too busy again" any one else??

I've been getting the "server too busy " thing again.

Is there just alot of traffic or something else ?

Its frustrating to type a bunch of stuff & hit the submit button & go nowhere .

I see the same message sometimes. I think it is a plot to keep me from posting. Maybe they got it out for you too rob.
hahahahahaha I make myself laugh....Quit lookin at me like that.

I looked at the list of members last night when I got the message and it said there were 80 members and 200 some odd guests present. Is there a way to set the server to give priority to the members, so that the "guests' will get turned down when there isn't enough room? I'm not sure if that is bad manners or not. (I were raised up all wrong, dur hur) later, mikey

Yeah I've received this message several times now and usually can't get back in for hours if not the next day.

Getting "server too busy again" any one else??

I got the message several times last night. At one point there was only a total of 67 on the site. Each time it cleared rather quickly, usually in less than a minute. But the last time I waited for three minutes and it didn't clear. I went to another site and came back an hour later and everything was working fine again. There were about 120 using the site then.

Are you sure it wasn't your computer impersonating you. That can happen when your computer starts to develop an artificial intelligence of it's own. (microsoft word comes to mind) Acts so much like you that it could be you. (cept for the eating and other stuff) Happens to me all the time. My computer posts stuff that I would never write myself....Like now. Thats why THEY want me to stop posting. Trust no one. Mikey
PS look who was logged on on malc's screen hahahahaha. Coincidence or bizzare conspiracy, you be the judge

Mike. . . . MIKE ,MIKE, MIKE!!! were you Mulder in a previous life ?

I'd like it better if you were Scully!

That is a good Idea to give "members Priority"

Now don't break your arm patting yourself on the back

No I wasn't Fox in a previous life. But my computer was.

And nnno it wasn't me who spoke of the "priority" idea. gaze in amazement at the sage wisdom of prophets as dreddged up from ancient writs of January 2006:

This has been going on for months now but only has been bothering me about once a week untill the last several days........Most of the time now I cannot even get the site, other times I can get the site but not the bulletin board. If it gets any worse I will not be able to use the boards anymore..its that bad...I have tried off and on all day today and this is the third time I have been able to get on after dozens of attempts. Is the server broke? Is the server too small? What?

I troubleshot this a while back, and have been monitoring it regularly. I did a database upgrade, and the problem has disappeared for the most part.

Every once in while, we'll get a small server spike now, but very infrequently.

HH -- I just checked our logs for today. The logs show perfect performance today. We had a very minor spike between 3:06 and 3:13 AM, but that's normal, as we were doing daily backups at that time. You should not be getting these messages (if anyone else is, please let me know ASAP).

My first thought is that you have pages that are being cached at some level, or that it's a problem with your ISP. What is the exact text of the error message that you see? Is it the same error message every time? Let me know, and I'll look into this further.

Jon, Its the same message everytime. Its a V-Bulletin message and it states that the server is busy to try again later. I have got a bunch of them since last Friday morning. Before it was only like once a week...now it is daily and throughout the entire day. Thank You for checking it out. Later, David

Getting "server too busy again" any one else??

Jon, I have been on quite a bit in the three or four days and I have only gotten the message once. In the last month I probably haven't seen it more than twice. What I did find a few weeks back that when I used the spell check it would take a long time to get back to the post. I got tired of waiting and canceled the wait message and changed the spelling in the post. That hasn't happened in a while. Hope this helps.

HH -- first thing to do would be to empty your browser cache completely. I have a hunch that the original "Server too busy" pages are being cached by your browser.
