Getting started again
Just bought a 66 Skylark from a friend. It's been sitting 5 years and could use some work. Bought it because it seemed like an appropiate project car to make into a Sunday cruiser. It's a 4-door, pillarless hardtop with a 340 4-barrel and automatic trans. I'm trying to find out the best way to rebuild the odd-ball 340. I will keep a high compression and I am considering boring it out for 350 pistons (it's got over 100k on it). A new carb and better ignition are always good ways to go. I'm wondering if the serpentine drive from a 3.8l V6 would fit. Any suggestions would be welcome (along with the best type of GM swivel bucket seats to replace the split bench). thx
