Getting the steering mocked up

I just ordered some steering parts for my 48 chev sedan. It has a mustang rack and I am using the stock seat. So I went with a 32'' Ididit column, 2 joints, a floor mount, and a column drop. If I can get away with using 2 u-joints do I still need a support bearing for the shaft? Is it possible to use only 2 joints with a setup like mine or would that be putting too much of an angle on them? Thanks.

With only 2 steering joints you won't need a support bearing. For most of the popular steering joints (Borgeson) 30 degrees is the max angle you can run without issues. If in doubt, get a degree wheel and check the angle when you have it mocked up. A small adjustment of the column can make a big difference in the linkage angle.
