Lead, follow or get out of the way.

One that bothers me terribly: Sorry for talking while you were trying to interrupt. My wife is the queen of interruptions.

Look up some Thomas Jefferson quotes, there's a bunch of them that fit after 200+ years. Wisdom that fits today. The Greatest Thomas Jefferson quotes

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and wisdom to know the difference.

Well, Dan, my friend, obviously you have not met my Wife. No matter what the subject she will interrupt me and turn the conversation to something that her Family did a zillion years ago.

Here's one that my "Kiwi Bud" from NZ uses as a siggy on another forum. Don't know if it's about Society but it sure cracks me up.

"always treat others as you expect to be treated."

It's simple and something your mother can tell you as a child that's easily understood. The bad part is, it leads mostly to let downs cause since you wouldn't do "it" to somebody else you just can't accept it being done to you.

Tech, you just jarred my cobwebbed brains and caused me to remember one my Dad always said:
"the best way to make an impression on someone is to let them make an impression on you"
