Speaking of the youngins and the great things they say. When my oldest son was around 5 years old we had gone somewhere in the PU and Dolly Parton was singing "Love is like a butterfly" on the radio. After I turned the truck off and we started to get out he said "she certainly has a cute little voice doesn't she?" Around that same time we were headed to Colorado on vacation and I had told him I wasn't going to stop every 15 minutes to get something to eat or let him pee so do it before we get on the road. We had driven all night and were going thru the Panhandle of Texas and he woke up, looked at his Mom and said "you know traveling sure can make a little feller hungry". Yes I stopped at the next town and got him some breakfast. Sorry just an old Pop remembering.

One of my absolute favorite memories of kids say the darnest things was around 1984 and I am pushing my two or three year old son in an stroller thru a swap meet in Pleasanton California and I said "Wow it's hot" brushing my forhead. Without missing a beat he turns his head around and up looking at me pushing the stroller behind him and says "It's not hot, Tina Turner is hot". LOLOLOLOL I laugh out loud every time I think of that.

One of the things we have to remember is all these crimes have been happening for ever. The difference is WE hear about every friggin one of them! Tell me why some man in the San Francisco bay area needs to know about a guy who was stabbed in a parking garage in Kentucky? Yet if I watch the news or internet feed or read the paper I will know about it. Just how is this going to enrich my life? Just how is this going to help me in some way? It isn't, I don't need to hear about it, or the teacher arrested for touching a child inappropriately in Maine, it doesn't change my life one single bit that it HAPPENED, yet it changed my life hearing about. It makes me think that is my "world" and it's not. And every single American is in that position, being bombarded with crap that means nothing to his life! Yet it WILL effect him, and not in a good way.

Brian

Kids do come up with the best lines, my son asked his Mom at a fairly early age where babies come from, he would have been 22, 23 tops...LOL. No honestly I'd say 4 or 5 tops and my wife gave him a vague answer and he looked at me while he put his coat on and said, "well I'm off, the kids in the neighborhood hired me to get answers", all this while he's holding 13 cents in his hand.

I heard this one years ago from a teacher who taught elementary school. He asked the kids to write a few lines about what they had learned about our National Forests in his class. The best one:

Wilderness is a place where the hand of man has never set foot...

No cute kid stuff but this is always been one of my favorites. It was written on the bathroom wall at a Pontiac dealership I worked at years ago.

"Attention Salesmen! Please do not eat the urinal cakes. They are not candy!"

Internationally true, makes me think that those without access or exposure to the BS are better off without, the part that gets us all in the end is that it sells,,,bunch of media pimps putting money ahead of everything, this is a reflection of societies values, if pink baloons sold and made stories CNN/BBC/CBC/NBC/ABC/FOX/CTV etc etc would run the story,,,,just so happens to be death and hardship they pander,,,crappy, the reporters that actaully tell the truth and the editors that make it clear are OK who ever they are, some times that is why I like local news rather than international.

But I always wanna watch the news? maybe I am a masicist, I like to watch the news.

Dont wanna doom and gloom but it is my pet peave, media irresponsibility
