Ain't it the truth!!?!

I'd drive through a mall parking lot (especially if there was a movie in the mall) and set of literally dozens of alarms, just at an idle! 3" 40's w/an H. Did it best w/a 455 Pontiac and the 454 BBC ('80 Camaro) but still used the same system w/a 327 and a 350 (a couple 350's actually) and they ALL would set them off.

glass packs and flows

i had a couple of trucks with this and it worked well, i'd take a couple old thrush (24") glass packs and heat em up real hot in any fashion you choose then dump ice water in them, then get all the guts out and bolt them to your 40s (3" single chambers) ona 3 inch exhaust system with hooker long tail headers and WoW. with a H pipe and true dual straits. i found a big power gain in mid rpms with a vortec 454 with a high rise intake and a 800 cfm carb but it was 2 bolt main in a 4wd so it didn't last long. they were definatly loud loud loud and you and every else knew it on acceleration but at crusing highway rpm they sang like a choir. but i dont know the facts on what was going on technically withem i just know if you couldn't hear my air horn you would here my exhaust pipes. now im just runing thrush 24" packs that i didnt blow out and they sound like **** they are really quiet at idle but as soon as i hit the gas they sound like open exhaust and extremely restrictive. as a mater of fact im going right now and pulling them off bye.
