Post Glide for street?

Is a glide able to down shift, like while cruising at 35mph?
Sorry but I've never driven in a glide.
Thanks

a Powerglide has two gears: first is something like 1:73 and second/final is 1:1. at 35 you're in first, so no downshifting is possible.

With a shift kit a Powerglide will run up to about 65 before shifting to high. The last one I had was a 283 powerpack / powerglide in a 73 Vega wagon. Corvette killer for about 3 blocks and I still got to run 13 inch wheels. Had about 130 top end.
