glider winch

hi
We have a new 8.2 litre V8 chevy 454 linked to a th400 auto transmission that we just use in neutral and drive. We need smooth gear changes and once it is in top we need it to stay there even though we reduce speed.
I will check the forums for info before posting.
Thanks.

Thanks for your interest. This is a fixed installation on a trailer, the engine drives through the gearbox and a back axle to a 40" diameter drum with approx 1000 yards of 3/16" diameter cable on and launches a glider weight about 1500 lbs to 1500ft in about 20 seconds.
