glow plugs 6.2 gm diesel

i have a 1982 gmc 6.2 diesel its out of the truck and i have it on an engine stand working on it. today i was getting ready to crank it so i flipped the toggle switch to turn on the glow plugs and the switch instantly just FRIED!! so i put a new switch and it did the same thing to four swithches.! Any ideas?

too small a switch

Unless your switch was rated for 100A I am not surprised it is toast. Use the glow plug relay mounted on your drivers fender and control it with your switch, it has the capacity to run the plugs.
