Glowing Turn-Signal Indicator

This involves my turn-signal indicator ... not my turn signal lights.

I can't figure out what's going on. This only happens when my headlight switch is on (parking lights on or headlights on) ... my left turn-signal indicator, on the dash, starts glowing dimly. It will get brighter, it will get dimmer, sometimes it will go off completely and then start glowing again in a few minutes.

It seems to have something to do with the headlight switch, right?

What should I check? What should I look for?

Thanks!

Glowing turn sig indicator

I had the exact same problem on my car. It turned out to be a broken element in one of the (1157 ?? dual element) bulbs that shorted to the other element in the bulb. as the car hit bumps in the road I got the same weird indications brighter, dimmer off then back on (usually just a glow not as bright as if the blinker was on) check the bulbs on the left side. Good Luck! Yours may be something different but this near made me learn some new bad words.

The differences between theory and practice are greater in practice than they are in theory.

Thanks, bro'.

Yes! I HATE this!!

I'll check the bulbs today ... what you say makes sense since the bulbs are on when this happens.

I'll post the results here after I check -- I sure hope it's this simple!
