glue gun?

my glue gun finally took a dump, it was a 10 yr old discard from the body shop that i put contact cement is 6 yrs ago and never cleaned it.
harbor freight has their $9.99 gravity feed guns on sale all the time.
will these work for contact cement or should i step up to their $20 siphon feed guns?

my wife and I did our interior with a gravity gun from HF and no problems. Left glue in it until done. then cleaned. You may want to look at summit guns as they have a 2.2 tip gun that shot contact a little better jmtc

A gravity feed gun is not the way to go. This is the Harbor Freight gun I use. It is siphon feed and external mix (glue and air are combined at the tip). I have never cleaned my gun in the 12 years I have owned it. I leave glue in it at all times. $20 for a gun that lasts 12 years is a pretty good deal. http://www.harborfreight.com/industr...gun-43760.html Just don't leave it in the garage over the Winter and let the glue freeze.
