Can you explain "ghost line" and elaborate on why a panel attached with adhesive and finished with a skim of filler might have that problem but a welded patch and skim coat would not? I'm welding in patch panels on my projects (actually doing a piss-poor job learning to), but you've got me wondering because panel adhesive often comes to mind while I'm in the middle of grinding down my horrible welds...
