gm 10 bolt
I have a quick question, and all of the threads Ive read have not quite answered that question. I have a chance to buy some very clean, very new 4.10 rear end gears for a GM 10 bolt to put in my 79 camaro. My question is this, how can I tell the difference between 7.5 , 8.3 and 8.5 gears? both on and off of the car. I want to get a posi from a bone yard and fit the 4.10s to the posi and put it in my car. I just want to make sure it will fit! Thanks in advance for your input!

far as I know the covers are different on the 3, they may look the same but aren`t, you can look in any summit catalog and they have the cover pattern per rear. or you can likely find this info online.
