gm 10 bolt id numbers
id like to know what gears i have. i pulled the cover and found these numbers on the outside of the ring gear. 2 gm 3984825 5 41 10 71. i looked through some old posts but didnt notice any that gave an explanation for the numbers. thanks for any help........47dawg

If you still have the cover off you can count the teeth of each gear. Put a mark, not a scratch or any thing that will ruin bearings, and once you have the numbers the formula is easy.
