Is that motor a Gen1 or Gen2 block?
I suspect that crate motor of yours is a Gen1, but google is not helping me at the moment.
Gen2 is the same as LT1 and LT4 motors.

A Gen1 SBC will *NOT* accept an LT head.

LT heads will only work on LT/Gen2 blocks.

Yes the L31 heads are awesome and will work with the Gen1 stuff. They will not work on Gen2 stuff.

On second thought, it doesn't appear the 94 Tahoe is a donor vehicle.

Your 10066036 crate engine is from the gen 1 group of engines, commonly known as the "Goodwrench 350" or the "Universal 350" (it's sold as a universal replacement for small blocks up to '85).The '94 Tahoe would be a 350 TBI engine. GM used the "Vortec" name on those engines, altho they weren't equipped with what we call a "Vortec head". If the heads are original to the Tahoe they would be the swirl port heads. They're good for lotsa low end torque but run out of airflow quickly past 4000 rpm. You want the L31 Vortec heads that became available in '96 thru '02. Chevy High Performance magazine did a series of progressive buildups using the crate engine you have, you may find it interesting reading. Click Here.

A good cylinder head at a good price. Bolt on and go.
