GM 2004r Transmission

What will it cost to get one of these, possibly used? What vehicles were they sold in? Does anyone know how the gear ratios compare to the 350 trans?

Hit your local "auto recycler" and head over to the Cadillac section.

See the pan guide in SSedan64 post and get one with the yellow AA code on the tail code plate. These are a good starting point. Get the tv cable and bracketry for the carb while you are there, you will need it too.

I got my 2004R Transmission for our V8 convertible beetle from an 87 monte which had the more desirable CZ5 valve body, etc.

I picked it up for $200 and it was in good shape and drove great with about 78,000 miles on it. But I've seen some that needed rebuilt pop up on craigslist now and then for $75-$100
