GM 400/475 upshift problems

IReplaced the trans with a Jasper unit(time constraints involved) now the remanufactured unit won't upshift to 3rd. any idea on what the cause would be. This unit is in a Motorhome tow vehicle. Shop has it and ordered another unit from Jasper. Jasper said check governer, valve body. Cooler machine flushed, nothing worked and they found no dirt in either piece.

I despartely need this MH repaired and am having nothing but bad Luck so far, thats why I went with the shop and a jasper unit, to avoid any problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Once ....... you had mentioned earlier shifts were desired..... a small aftermarket spring is often used behind the modulator valve. The spring comes in most kits , b&m , TransGo & others.

if there is no 3rd gear shift.... does reverse work good??

Could be a stuff shift valve for the 2-3 shift . If the trans upshsifts 1-2 , then down shifts well, i doubt the goveneor is stuck

shift problems

Everything works except upshift to 3rd. Jasper says everything checked out on their dyno before it left their plant in indiana. Mech says it won't shift to 3rd, and they have done everything possible. remove valve body, governor, checked for dirt from flushing the cooler and found nothing. and are demanding another unit be shipped from plant in indiana. Jasper says they will send one but it will take a week or to to build one and ship it I went the jasper route because of time. Apparently not the right answer.
