GM 7.5 gear question
I have a set of 3.23 gears for a 7.5 GM rearend. The ring has 42 teeth, and the pinion has 13, and of course 42 divided by 13 is 3.23. I also have a ring with 40 teeth on it, but no pinion. It's suppose to be a 3.08 ring. If thats the case, it has to have a pinion with 13 teeth. 40 divided by 13 is 3.076. Is that a 3.08? Will the pinion gear for the 3.23 interchange, and work with the 3.08 gear?

No, they won't interchange. The pitch on the teeth is different so the ring gear has to match.
