GM Accessories

I have an 02 Yukon and it has a GM security system on it that involves waving a small square w/GM Accessories written on it under the steering wheel so that i can start my car. Well the scanner is not working and GM parts says they've never heard of this kind of a security system, the GM dealership here saw it and they say it's definitely GM made but they've never seen or heard of it. Has anyone heard of this? They told me it maybe 10 years old, but not sure.

Here are some pictures of the key fob/scan card that i need to start my 2002 Yukon. I was told that it's probably a aftermarket security system. Apparently the 'GM Accessories' card is not GM made, but they're allowed to put a sticker on it to make it look like it's from GM. Are these easy to disable? The GM dealership here doesn't want to return it to factory because it's aftermarket even though the scan card clearly says GM. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

That is a GM fob for sure but I have never seen any GM use a proximity card for a security system. It has to be aftermarket. I would suggest you look under the dash for the control box and see if you can find a part # on it. Maybe at that point you can find documentation

It is probably aftermarket.
Look for a box that is wired into the start circuit and post what you find.
Get the wire colors and where they go if possible.
I'm thinking just remove it and restore the wiring back to normal.
You can get the wiring diagram at www.autozone.com but it is not likely to show the box but you can identify the wires that are connected to the box.
Does the engine crank but not start?
