gm alternator

recently purchased a used 89 chevy 4.3 alternator. electrical connections seem to say PL and F8.can someone please tell me where they get connected to? THANK YOU.

It sounds like a CS130 alternator.

The info here may help to explain a little about the alternator. http://www.alternatorparts.com/cs130_sbpage1.htm

This is the common wiring scheme.

S Sensor wire (connected to the battery or output terminal of the alternator)
F not necessary
L Same as our stock alt
P not necessary
